Born on June 7 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, Arlette Shleifer now works and lives in Corsica after many years spent in Paris and traveling. A graduate of “Oriental Languages”, she also followed artistic training in a workshop, throughout her literary studies at the Sorbonne.

This crazy passion for painting, which dates from a very young age, pushed her to explore different techniques inspired by her travels to the ends of the world. So when she arrived in Taiwan, the dull, milky sky which gave the colors a sensation of softness, of paleness, made her think of the "natural Sienna" that the Ancients put in all the colors to link them together and thus giving a beautiful harmony of palette. The restraint imposed by the light pushed it far beyond my work.

She opened and directed a contemporary art gallery in Paris for around fifteen years, the Galerie de l’Arcade place des Vosges. She defended both young artists and famous painters Peter Klasen, Vladimir Velickovic, Sophia Vari and some who belonged to the Cobra group, Corneille in particular.

Fascinated by African art, Dogon statuary (Mali), the tribal art of the Sénoufo people of Ivory Coast, or that of the Yoroubas, she collaborated with international art dealers
